About Us
The Friends of Ala Wai Ballroom Dance Academy is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization Founded in 2004.
We are committed to the promotion of ballroom dancing in Hawaii by offering low-cost affordable ballroom dance classes.
Our dedicated volunteer instructors teach beginner-friendly ballroom dance classes at the Ala Wai Golf Course Clubhouse Second Floor Multipurpose Room which features over 7,000 Square feet of wood floor.
Since our inception, we have utilized a portion of class fees, weekend dance cover charges and your generous donations to offset some of the operating expenses of this beautiful facility.
Our Dance Club donations throughout the years have amounted to over $50,000 and we are proud to present the following highlights:

Group Dance Classes
Our 3 month dance program (2 classes per night) is available for a flat rate of $20.
Classes are held on Wednesdays from 7:00 to 9:15 PM upstairs at the Ala Wai Golf Course Clubhouse.
Registration begins at 6:30PM and is held the first two weeks of the calendar quarter.

Our class instruction places emphasis on basic ballroom dance techniques which greatly assists students successfully complete the class material.
We offer supplemental class assistance for student questions from 6:30pm to 7:00pm.
